New City, New School.

So as of last tuesday, I have officially become a resident of the lower mainland. I am happy to say that there hasn’t yet been a dull moment. Moving was a total gongshow as usual..since it was pouring rain the entire time and apparently uhaul doesn’t know where their drop off locations are actually located. Then I had to build a ridiculously complicated shelf that took the entire day and weighed about 200 pounds…
but finally! completed unpacking…and just with a few random things I’m sending back home.

You may notice a certain theme…

Thanks to Hannah for my amazing chair where I read/drink coffee/watch tv/sleep/listen to music!

I have a pretty random selection of books and art supplies!

And of course on Monday I start the next part of my educational journey..I feel like I’m going to be in school forever! I’m taking medical laboratory science..so at the end I’ll be able to take your blood and look at it under microscopes.

All my classes seem like they might definitely be tough, but I am excited!
So far my new place and roommates are pretty fantastic..and like I said it has definitely not been dull at all, and lots of adventures are soon to come I’m sure.

I’ll update you guys again soon <3

Sexual Tensions.

So obviously since I am working at a videostore, I am completely consumed by free rentals and watch an obscene amount of movies and television shows.
I have always wanted to watch xfiles in it’s entirety, I vaguely remember watching it as a kid but not really making too much sense of what was happening beyond the fact it was about aliens and featured the FBI agents Scully and Mulder. However, there is no doubt in my mind that even sometime in elementary school I found Fox Mulder undeniably good looking.

Who can resist this man with his classic good looks?

Then of course, there is his partner in crime Dana Scully, who I admittedly at first did not care too much about but grew fonder of during the first few seasons.

                                                     What a Fox.

I recently just finished the fourth season, and it dawned on me..how have two good looking single people who have shared several near death experiences and a small dark basement office ..have not been at all involved romantically over the course of four+ years? It is totally unbelievable. Not to mention the fact that they seem to just call or walk into each other’s apartments any time of the day or night with complete and utter confidence.

                                                         Seriously.

Let’s face it…in a real life situation where you and your attractive gun slinging partner are running around in dark abandoned buildings trying to find aliens/vampires/ancient beings etc. something would have happened…especially after four years of this. Maybe it’s just me and I just don’t have that kind of stamina to hold off in that sort of scenario…but I’m pretty sure that people are completely predictable and after being in small spaces with one another long enough you tend to develop some type of feelings.

Anyways, I am pretty sure I know what occurs at the end of series..so I am not being naive about the fact that nothing ever happens, but I do have to say that every episode where Mulder and Scully look at each other with about an inch between their faces and don’t start making out is a huuuuge letdown. Until that time comes, I will wait with bated breath…

for some of this…

And definitely more of this…

                                                                     So hot.

In the time of fuzzy lip sweaters.

It’s been ages since I wrote anything on here at all, So to whoever is interested I’ll give you a runthrough of what the heck I’ve been doing all this time.
I think I may have posted in the summer sometime last? Since then I’ve gone through three jobs (one of which I’m still at) At one point I was working 70+ hours a week working doubles at two jobs..and after a month I had enough of that..since I didn’t sleep or do anything else. My job situation has improved, however I still work 6 days or more a week so I throughoughly enjoy my day off. (Today being one) I tend to just sit around at home feeling completely braindead, but that’s okay. In october I worked 20 days straight, and had one day off then worked another five. No big deal. It isn’t the best thing ever, but I do enjoy the money.
I am still going to the wildlife park as often as I can! I feel busy and tired, but I love the animals so I force myself to go whenever I can.
As for the past week or so, I have finally been accepted into the medical laboratory program at BCIT, and I have found a place to live in burnaby. So those two things basically make my life right now and I am really excited!
I only have to work for one more month, then I can finally quit and move to vancouver and start school! As far as arts and crafts go, they have obviously all been on hold and it suckkss. I look forward just doing school and making more time for projects. I haven’t had weekends off work in the last three years at least.

I’m sorry this blog post is so amazingly boring haha.

June 2011 Update

Hey Guys,
I thought I should make some sort of update since it’s been four months! Yikes!

I’ll try and keep this short as I don’t really have anything in particular to write about?

So obviously my entire plan of having an “easy” semester and doing all the projects that I wanted failed miserably. I completed one project..which I haven’t even done the finishing on yet and I started it in november…
Hopefully I’ll get that done and I can post a photo, even though it’s probably amazingly uninteresting. haha.

So I am at a sort of cross roads in life at the moment, just before school ended I was able to get a new job at a breakfast place. I was in the section that makes decrative fruit plates, waffles and smoothies. Honestly, I thought the job was amazing and I enjoyed the company of my coworkers. But then things really started going sour because of my boss. She yelled at us daily, and threatened our jobs and basically told us that we weren’t good enough. This sort of constant abuse was really more than I could handle, and I like to think I am pretty tough. Soo, on the long weekend while we were short staffed, I took a few too many scoldings from her and I definitely walked out after my shift and never went back. It was just getting soo out of hand. I hope to make a formal complaint with the company actually, everything was perfectly find except her. And I am not the first or the last person that has walked out either.

So besides being unemployed in a brutally bad time, I have finally been able to complete all my credits for a B.Sc in animal biology. This is sooo awesome! It has been a very long and strange five years but I have no regrets and I think I like how things have turned out. I convocate this friday :)
And with that, I have just completed my interview/tour portion of my application into medical laboratory science which I should hear the results of at the end of this month, or early july. I really hope I get in, that would make me feel better about this whole unemployed thing..and I basically can’t get a job with my degree as it is..unless I work as a wildlife tech..
So cross your fingers for me!!  …and hopefully I am able to get some sort of job that pays decently until then..

So, I think that is all that I will say for now! I am off to try and be productive for the first time in a week
I’ll update again soon, maybe I’ll try to sneak in some photos from the park since now there are lots of cute baby animals coming in!

Holly.
