The End of Another Year.
This year seemed to go by faster than the last, funny how that happens as you get older. Remember being young and how summer lasted ages, now summer is just a time where we are able to work our butts off in order to get more money to pay for school and its just hotter than the rest of the year. I had two jobs and two classes this summer, so its meaning has become completely obsolete and now it serves me only purely as a season.
As I’m sitting here eating some almond chocolate and listening to simple minds while candles burn in the background, I feel like I’m having a moment of clarity. It may only be a moment, since soon I will once again have to go to work and out into the world to feel the stress of daily life but I am enjoying it. I think its mostly due to the fact that my room is finally clean and organized and the chaos that is exams and christmas is over. Now I can finally relax and chill.
I’ve been feeling very inspired lately. I’ve just been looking at pictures and ideas and tutorials, and I want to do so many things…I just want to create ridiculous hairstyles and wear intense makeup have photoshoots and create(and recreate) clothing. I want to paint, draw, sculpt and make jewelery from polymer clay. I think that’s my new years resolution - to make sure I at least take a swing at all these things. There’s just so many new things to discover and I want to take advantage of it all. Last semester was terribly hectic and I had to pretty much push everything to the side and I really didn’t like it. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Next semester should be easier, and I should be able to free up most of my evenings for my various hobbies.
If anybody feels like joining me on some type of arts and crafts excursions - I am down. (as if anybody will read this..haha)
Anyways - If you don’t watch my youtube videos I will tell you that I have been able to take in a everglades ratsnake from some friends of mine. His name is Loki and he’s six feet.

I’ve only had him for about a week and a half but he’s doing really well so far.I got to take him out of his enclosure (after acclimation) for the first time the other day, and it was awesome but he’s definitely curious so I have to keep a close eye on him! My room probably has a million hiding spots.
PS. Did you know that rats come prepackaged? I had no idea. It seems so absurd. The rats in the picture look far too stoked.
mmm! delicious. All I can say is that I’m glad I’ve already been feeding mice to the owls at the wildlife park because this thing stunk like a motherfucker. It was nasty. Next time I am not using hot water to defrost this thing.
Before you get too grossed out, I’m going to show you some pictures of some awesome reptile hides kyle and I made for Loki.
I looked around at a few stores and online to find some reptile hides..I saw some cool ones that exo terra makes that look like rocks. But they were 34 dollars! And since I needed two of them that was kind of out of the question. I bought two black basket things at the dollarstore, cut a hole in on side and sanded down any rough or pokey parts, and we added some electrical tape to the door just in case. (and obviously poked in some random fake plants for camouflage) They work well and he spends a ton of time in them. And they cost me about 3 dollars, perfect!
I hope everybody got what they wanted for christmas, mine was good. I got some yarn and a new camera lens!
I only recieved two of these for christmas..but seriously I have promised myself to deplete my entire stash of craft supplies (which is a lot..) before buying anything else..even if it takes me years to do it.
Crochet/Knitting Party anyone??
Anyways - I hope this blog wasn’t too long! I have lots of blog ideas as well, so that’ll happen in good time.
I wish you luck in the new year!
